Bluetooth Long Range

The 2.4 GHz carrier that carries most Remote ID broadcasts today.

Bluetooth 4 legacy advertising and Bluetooth 5 Long Range (coded PHY) are the carriers most drones use for their Remote ID broadcast. Long Range mode trades data rate for distance, which is what makes a small drone audible to a receiver hundreds of metres away. Receiver-side considerations: antenna quality and placement dominate real-world range, decode success degrades in crowded 2.4 GHz environments, and multi-aircraft handling separates products under load. All of these deserve test conditions in writing before you rely on them.
